Season

The Cricket Academy season runs from autumn until the start of the summer holidays in June.

Our goal is to provide children with regular cricket coaching, opportunities to play matches and tournaments, and a positive environment in which they can develop their skills, confidence and enjoyment of cricket.

Trial sessions for new players

New players are welcome to try the Academy before registering. The first two coaching sessions are free of charge.

After the two free trial sessions, the player must register with the Academy in order to continue attending regular coaching sessions.

Registration fee (€50 per season)

The annual registration fee is €50 per player and covers one full Academy season (registration is valid from autumn to autumn). It is paid once per season. Registration includes:

  • Access to Academy coaching sessions
  • Priority for tournament team selection
  • Discounted tournament participation fees
  • Access to Academy activities and events during the season

The €50 registration fee is generally non-refundable once registration has been confirmed, except where the Academy decides otherwise in exceptional circumstances.

Monthly coaching fee (€30 per month)

The regular coaching fee is €30 per child per month during the active Academy season. After registration, the Academy will set up the regular coaching payment.

The standard payment method is monthly invoicing in advance. An invoice for the full upcoming month will normally be issued automatically on the 1st day of each month. For example, an invoice issued on 1 November covers the coaching fee for the month of November.

Families may also choose to pay quarterly (5% discount) or for the full season in advance (10% discount). The full-season discount applies when at least 6 months of the season remain; with fewer than 6 months left, it is 5%. Choose your payment plan when registering; see the joining guide.

Coaching fees are invoiced for the months September to May.

Monthly fees are charged for the month as a whole and are not calculated according to individual sessions attended. Missing individual training sessions does not reduce the monthly fee.

Training schedule

The Academy currently plans to provide one regular coaching session per week. As the number of registered players grows, the Academy may increase the training schedule to two sessions per week.

Any changes to the regular training schedule will be communicated to parents and guardians in advance. The exact training day, time and location may vary depending on facility availability, season and group size.

Taking a break

Families may pause the monthly coaching fee if a child will be away for an extended period. A break must be for a minimum of one full month, and the Academy must be informed at least one month in advance.

Because monthly invoices are issued in advance, parents and guardians should inform the Academy before the next month's invoice is generated.

Shorter absences are not refunded or credited. For example, if a child is away for one or two weeks because of travel, holidays, illness or another personal reason, the normal monthly fee remains payable.

The annual €50 registration fee is not paused, credited or refunded during a break.

Breaks apply to monthly invoicing. Quarterly and full-season payments are discounted and are not credited or refunded for breaks.

Equipment, clothing and footwear

Cricket equipment required for coaching sessions will be provided by the Academy. Players are also welcome to bring and use their own cricket equipment. Each player should bring:

  • Their own water bottle
  • Comfortable sports clothing suitable for the session
  • Appropriate footwear for the playing surface

Suitable footwear may include indoor sports shoes for indoor sessions, shoes suitable for gravel grounds, turf shoes where appropriate, and suitable sports shoes for grass surfaces.

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that their child wears safe and appropriate footwear for the relevant playing surface. Proper footwear is important for the child's safety, grip and movement during training and matches.

Tournaments and team selection

Registered Academy players receive priority when teams are selected for tournaments. Registration does not guarantee selection for every tournament. Team selection may depend on factors such as:

  • Number of available places
  • Age group and tournament rules
  • Training attendance
  • Player development and readiness
  • Team balance
  • Conduct and attitude
  • Requirements of the specific tournament

Coaches are responsible for team selection. Where tournament participation involves an additional fee, registered Academy players receive the applicable Academy discount.

Attendance

Regular attendance is encouraged because consistent training supports both individual player development and team development.

Parents or guardians should inform the Academy whenever a child is unable to attend a scheduled coaching session. Occasional absences do not reduce or refund the monthly coaching fee.

Behaviour and fair play

Players, parents, coaches and volunteers are expected to contribute to a safe, respectful and positive environment. Players are expected to:

  • Respect teammates, opponents, coaches and officials
  • Follow coaches' instructions
  • Play fairly and demonstrate good sportsmanship
  • Treat facilities and Academy equipment responsibly
  • Support and encourage other players
  • Avoid bullying, discrimination, abusive language and inappropriate behaviour

Serious or repeated behavioural problems may result in a warning, temporary suspension or removal from Academy activities.

Changes to training

Training schedules, locations and activities may occasionally change due to:

  • Facility availability
  • School holidays
  • Public holidays
  • Tournaments and matches
  • Weather
  • Coach availability
  • Group size
  • Other circumstances outside the Academy's reasonable control

The Academy will communicate significant changes to parents and guardians as early as reasonably possible.

Parent / guardian responsibility

For players under 18, registration must be completed by, or with the consent of, a parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date information, including:

  • Player's name and date of birth
  • Parent or guardian contact details
  • Emergency contact information
  • Relevant information required for the child's safe participation
  • Any other information reasonably requested by the Academy

Parents and guardians are also responsible for ensuring that the child arrives appropriately dressed and equipped for the relevant training environment, and should inform the Academy if important information changes during the season.

Communication

The Academy will use the contact details provided during registration to communicate information concerning:

  • Coaching sessions
  • Schedule changes
  • Matches
  • Tournaments
  • Academy events
  • Payments and invoices
  • Other Academy-related matters

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that their contact details remain up to date.

Acceptance of rules

By registering a player and paying the registration fee, the parent or guardian confirms that they have read and accepted these Registration & Participation Rules.

Registration and participation in Academy activities are subject to these rules and any additional safety or tournament-specific instructions communicated by the Academy.
